Registration for classes in the USOS system will take place in two rounds:
October 13-14 – each PhD candidate may choose one class
October 15-16 – each PhD candidate can choose any number of classes
Optional classes and forms of passing them
PhD candidates admitted in the academic year 2020/2021 and later are required to complete optional courses for a total of 9 ECTS during their education, while each year they should attend at least one class (exceptions should be agreed with the application to the Dean).
PhD candidates may complete the following classes:
- by participating in classes offered by the Doctoral School (offer above)
- participating in classes offered by doctoral and master’s studies – this requires the first consultation with the area coordinator on the part of DS and the faculty conducting the classes.
- by participating in classes of other doctoral schools at other universities (or the MŚSD) – it also requires first agreement with the area coordinator on the part of the DS and the faculty conducting the classes.
In the case of classes carried out outside the University of Silesia, the Doctoral School does not negotiate on behalf of PhD candidates. Still, it may support them with an appropriate certificate or reference letter if it’s needed.
After agreeing on all the details – the PhD candidate submits classes at the Doctoral School (the form will be available until October 15).
