Information on the results of competition no 8 (3/2022)

The competition was conducted on the basis of the Regulations on the expenditure of funds for the research activity of doctoral students of the Doctoral School, introduced by ordinance No. 1/2022 of the Dean of the Doctoral School. On October 24th, 2022, the competition committee appointed by the Dean of the Doctoral School determined the distribution of funds in the competition.

128 applications were submitted within the deadline, including 13 applications withdrawn by applicants (applications submitted in duplicate) and 6 applications rejected at the stage of formal evaluation (2 due to exceeding the total requested amount of PLN 5,000, 3 due to the lack of a submitted report on spending funds in competition No. 1 and No. 2/2022 and 1 due to lack of confirmation by the supervisor).

The commission assessed 114 applications. During the assessment, the committee decided to reject 17 applications for substantive reasons, including 16 due to the impossibility of implementing the project (including activities planned for 2023 and expenses impossible to implement by the end of 2022) and 1 due to low scientific level (very poor substantive description).

Applications were submitted for a total amount of PLN 323 418,23.

Funds for distribution: PLN 95,000.

After examining all the applications, the committee applied to the Dean of the Doctoral School for financing of applications in the total amount of PLN 96 013,41.

Based on the assessments of committee members and following an analysis of the costs presented in the applications, the committee decided to finance 62 proposals, some in full and some in part. Due to the lack of sufficient funds, 22 applications that passed the formal and content-related validation, but obtained too few points and were placed last on the ranking list, will not be financed. In accordance with the provisions of the above-mentioned regulations, the Doctoral School publishes information about the awarded funds.

PhD students who did not receive funding will receive information about the reason in a separate email in two weeks from the day of the announcement of results. PhD students who have been granted a part of the applied funds may ask the Doctoral School office about the destination of the granted funds.
