Conference summarising project by Interdisciplinary Centre for Staff Development

The conference summarising the implementation of the project ‘Interdisciplinary Centre for Staff Development – think tank for developing key competencies of staff of the future for Polish science’ took place on 24 and 25 October 2022 in the building at ul. Bankowa 14 in Katowice (rooms 432–433). The project is financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education within the Dialogue Programme.

The conference presented the results of the team’s efforts towards the concept of managing universities by competencies. It featured representatives of researcher and support worker communities of Polish universities. Among the guests, one could find representatives of the Gdańsk University of Technology, AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, the Warsaw University of Technology, Jagiellonian University, the Medical University of Gdańsk, the Silesian University of Technology and Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

The project is carried out by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Staff Development. The event was to develop a concept of developing key competencies of research and administration support staff of the science and higher education sector in Poland that may contribute to strengthening the position of domestic universities worldwide. Within the project, a unique tool was designed in 2021, thanks to which research on key competencies of employees of 10 selected universities is currently being carried out.
