The winner is selected by the Jury of the Professor Józef Pieter Award. The name of the winner is announced by the Jury during the award ceremony, which will take place on 14 October each year. The winner will receive a statuette and a cash prize of PLN 20,000.
How to prepare a good application?
- Justify your choice
The most important part of the application form is the justification of the candidacy, which is best prepared and written down in advance, having in mind specific actions of the teacher in question. - Give examples
As stated in the regulations, the prize may be awarded to a person whose work demonstrates the fundamental importance of education for the development of children and youth; who effectively shares their love for knowledge, combines the qualities and skills of an outstanding subject teacher and a committed educator; who is open, tolerant and fair, thus presenting the attitude and values close to the patron of the award, Professor Józef Pieter. Please describe how the Candidate implements such values. It is worth citing specific examples of actions, behaviours, situations. - Specify the time of action and the roles taken
In the justification of the candidacy, it is also worth indicating when specific actions were carried out (e.g. involvement in a specific project lasted several years, etc.) and what was the exact role of the proposed person (e.g. the Candidate was/was the originator of some action at school, etc.). - Enter the full name of the school
Take into account that applications are accepted from the entire voivodeship, so please remember to provide the name of the city/town/etc. (and not the name of the district or just the number of the facility). - Provide us with additional materials
We also encourage you (although it is not mandatory) to collect additional materials, e.g. links to a website, article, or audio-visual materials etc., showing the candidate’s actions. Question No. 17 in the application form provides for such a possibility. - Do you want to write more than we provided for in the form? No problem!
If your justification is too long and does not fit in the answer field, please use the last questions (17 or 18) to add a link to your statement located, for example, on google drive (if you do so, please remember to share the link so that its content is available later for the Competition Jury).
