Report from the premiere of the film by Dagmara Drzazga, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof.

On 22 March 2024, a pre-premiere screening of the film Zagłębie. Pamięć (Zagłębie. Memory) by Dagmara Drzazga, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. took place at the Kosmos Cinema.

After the screening, a conversation with the film’s characters and some of its creators took place. The meeting was attended by, among others: Danuta Niciarz, who remembers the extermination of the Jewish population during the war in Zagłębie.

The team working on the film, apart from two lecturers from the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia – Dagmara Drzazga (script, directing) and Krystyna Nowojska (production), included: Witold Kornaś, Michał Sławiński and Bartosz Dominik (cinematography), Jakub Laki Jędras (aerial cinematography), Andrzej Piwowarczyk (sound) and Beata Widuch (editing and sound).

The documentary film was produced by TVP SA Katowice Branch for TVP Historia, 2024. The production was co-financed by the Research Excellence Initiative of the University of Silesia.
