Organisation of education

  1. All classes are conducted remotely, if possible – in line with the schedule.
  2. All consultations are conducted remotely in line with the schedule.
  3. Credits and exams are only conducted remotely.

Documentation

All matters related to the course of studies, which required personal presence in the Dean’s Office, in particular requests for extension of the examination session, settlement of the semester and approval of the subject of diploma thesis are processed remotely. The obligation to provide documents in paper form only when it results from the existing regulations.

In the case when it is necessary to put an additional grade in the student record book or in the USOS system, the Dean’s Office will help make the relevant entry through contact with the appropriate examiner based on the grades entered in the USOS system, scan or photo of the relevant pass in the student record book sent by e-mail.

 

Organisation and participation in events

Strict ban on organisation of on-site or hybrid events, only remote events are permitted.

Organisation of education

The employees in quarantine and the employees in mandatory home isolation may, subject to the employer’s approval, perform the work specified in the contract of employment remotely and receive remuneration for performing their duties.

Remote work rules:

  1. employee performing remote work is obliged to carry out the ordered duties in their effective working time, including in particular: monitoring business e-mail (managing correspondence on an ongoing basis) and using company mobile phone and/or computer (if available);
  2. employee is obliged to provide the results of ordered remote work via electronic media systematically, whereas the direct supervisor shall verify the completed work on an ongoing basis;
  3. direct supervisors of the University employees shall keep ongoing contact with an employee performing remote work
    and supervise the effects of their work;
  4. remote work is ordered to an employee by the direct supervisor [TEMPLATE OF REMOTE WORK REQUEST].

 

Additional guidelines for work performance:

  • With reference to work performance in the workplace at the University of Silesia:

In the case of performing work in the workplace, apart from normal working time for the employees specified Sections 34-35 of the Rules and Regulations of Work at the University of Silesia, flexible or equivalent working time can also be used respectively.

  • With reference to mixed work performance on a single day (remote work and work performance in the workplace at the University of Silesia):
  • In the case of mixing remote work and work performance in the workplace on a single day, it should be taken into consideration that travel time to the place of residence counts as working time.

 

With reference to correspondence and handling affairs:

  • direct contacts between employees at work should be reduced to minimum;
  • affairs should be handled by e-mail;
  • General Office is used for handling traditional correspondence (receiving documentation from units and stakeholders) sent to particular general university administration units (Rectorate);
  • any correspondence addressed to relevant units should be delivered through General Office; unit employees are obliged to pick correspondence from the General Office;
  • documents different than financial, which require signature, shall be sent as scans (.pdf) or photos (.jpg) until revoked; please ensure that the required signatures and stamps are clear;
  • paper documents shall be sent only by internal mail through General Office;
  • no possibility to enter the building with the exception of employees working on-site.

General Principles

Ban on leaving student residence halls temporarily, ban on temporary departures of inhabitants, ban on leaving the student residence hall without important reasons (health) between 11 PM and 6 AM, contact with administration only by phone or e-mail.

Strict implementation of sanitary regime. Possibility to stay in publicly available spaces of two individuals at the same time only.

 

Payments

Electronic payments as a rule. In exceptional situations, upon previous notification of such necessity to the campus administration, , it will be possible to pay through the payment terminal.

Guest visits

Ban on any visits (also between the campus residents, between the student residence halls).

Access to infrastructure for the purpose of implementation of research work

Laboratories closed. Access only in exceptional cases for individuals with the Rector’s authorisation (implementation of research projects which cannot be suspended, repair of failure or long-term repair). Registration of individuals staying in laboratories and providing them with necessary personal protective equipment.

 

Access to infrastructure for the purpose of conducting classes

Lack of access to research, educational and artistic infrastructure. Classes are conducted remotely only, the practical part in the form of recorded film displays.

 

Access to infrastructure for the purpose of carrying out diploma theses

Lack of access to research, educational and artistic infrastructure for the purpose of carrying out diploma theses. Only literature-based and theoretical papers.
