Announcement on the organisation of education process in the summer semester 2020/2021

Ladies and Gentlemen,

due to the fact that the pandemic continues and the epidemiological situation is still potentially dangerous, in the upcoming summer semester we will keep the currently effective organisational rules of distance learning process, i.e. with the use of distance learning methods and techniques. We are aware of the fact that there are modules for which the achievement of learning outcomes by students requires conducting laboratory classes, workshops etc., which is particularly significant for the individuals who are just about to finish their studies. The epidemic situation will be changing, which is why we should be prepared to act flexibly already during the semester. Once a majority of our community has been vaccinated, we will try to take responsible decisions concerning the return to on-site classes. However, it is not possible to determine today whether this will happen before the end of planned classes in the summer semester, or the classes will have to be carried out in the summer months, as it happened last year.

I believe that, similarly to the recent months, in the upcoming period we will also be jointly working on the continuity of education in this difficult time.

With warm regards,
Dr Katarzyna Trynda, Professor of the University of Silesia
Vice-Rector for Education and Students
