Individual adjustment of studies

Persons with disabilities who study at the University of Silesia in Katowice may apply for  Individual Adjustment of Studies.

For this purpose they must submit at the Student Service Centre an application for IAS, an information card and a valid disability certificate or equivalent document (if in possession of such). Filled out and signed documentation may be submitted: in person or via traditional post to the Student Service Centre, ul. Bankowa 12, 40-007 Katowice, room 123 (rector’s office), or via email – scan the documents and post them to the following address: dlastudenta@us.edu.pl, or duo@us.edu.pl entering the following in the message topic: IAS – your first name and surname. Original documents must be submitted for the individual meeting.

Forms of support that we offer under IAS include, among others: personal assistant, sign language translator, change of form of exam from oral to written or vice versa, increasing the fond of texts or exams that will be attended.

Arrange an individual meeting with the centre representatives and the coordinator for support from the faculty on which you will study. During the meeting we will discuss the needs and possibilities related to IAS. We will jointly establish the most beneficial forms of support for you.
