General information concerning settlement of payments in student residence halls

We kindly inform that payments for accommodation in student residence halls are settled by bank transfer to the bank account of the University of Silesia:

Fee for a place in a student residence hall

The field „payment title” should contain:

number/name of the student residence hall;
town in which the residence hall is located;
period covered by the payment;
student’s name and surname (if they are not owners of the bank account from which the transfer is made);
in the case of individuals enrolled in doctoral schools – the name of the university and the faculty.

Payment of a deposit (applies to Student Residence Hall 1 [DS1] Katowice-Ligota and Student Residence Hall 5 [DS5] Sosnowiec)

The field „payment title” should contain:

DS1 Katowice / DS5 Sosnowiec;
the word „kaucja” (deposit);
student’s name and surname (if they are not owners of the bank account from which the transfer is made);
in the case of individuals enrolled in doctoral schools – the name of the university and the faculty.

It is also possible to settle the payments with payment cards in specified points of the university residential areas:

Academic Housing Estate in Cieszyn – Student Residence Hall ‘UŚKA’ (administration, room no. 14) and Student Residence Hall ‘DSN’ (administration, room no. 126), Mon–Fri 7.00 a.m.–2.30 p.m.

Payments for a given month must be made by the last day of that month, with the exception of October, for which payment is made in advance for the whole month, regardless of the actual length of stay. Statutory interest is calculated for each day of delay in settling the payments for accommodation in student residence halls when due.

Student residence hall fees:

Refundable deposit at Student Residence Hall 1 (DS1) in Katowice-Ligota and Student Residence Hall 5 (DS5) in Sosnowiec
Work is currently underway to improve safety and standards at the University of Silesia’s student residence halls. Some of the rooms (Student Residence Hall 1 [DS1[ in Katowice-Ligota) have been refurbished, with fresh paint and new furniture. At the request of the University Council of the Student Government, a refundable deposit is being introduced for places in Student Residence Hall 1 in Katowice-Ligota and Student Residence Hall 5 in Sosnowiec.

The deposit will be charged at an amount equal to one month’s accommodation fee at Student Residence Hall 1 or Student Residence Hall 5 in Katowice-Ligota and serves as security against any damage or destruction caused by the occupant of the room in question.
To ensure transparency and objectivity, the condition of the room will be checked at the start and end of the stay.
