University Residential Area in Katowice-Ligota is situated on the outskirts of a beautiful forest, nearby the recreational areas of Zadole Park. University Residential Area in Ligota provides location for such objects as DSO Projekt student club serving lunches for students, Panorama restaurant with a summer garden, groceries and a cosmetic shop. Additionally, students may profit from various sport attractions such as football pitch, tennis court, beach volleyball court, fitness club and graduation tower located in the adjacent park, the first one to be opened in Katowice and the largest one in the region. Opening of an indoor swimming pool in Zadole Park is also anticipated in the foreseeable future. University Residential Area in Ligota is the main centre of student culture – during summer period various musical, sporting and other events assuring the integration of the academic community are organized here.

Students can choose between single and double rooms with access to the Internet. Each building offers laundries, kitchens, TV rooms and study rooms as well as gaming rooms furnished with tennis tables and table football. Security and external monitoring services are provided to University Residential Area in Ligota.

One of the buildings is the seat of Egida Student Radio Studio which has been operating for over 50 years. Due to the location, the journalists working for the radio station are free to develop their work experience at any time.

University Residential Area in Ligota can be reached via all buses and minibuses with routes to “Ligota-Akademiki”. Public bus lines: 12, 36, 51, 154 292, 912, 657N, 905N.
