University of Silesia in Katowice

From 10 to 20 October 2022, the Doctoral School will host Professor Vilma Žydžiūnaitė from the Vitas Magnus University in Kaunas as a visiting professor. Prof. Žydžiūnaitė is the Director of the Institute of Education at the University in Kaunas.

Her research interests are in the field of educational management and leadership, higher education, professional identity, professional philosophy and values, qualitative research methodology, and conjunction between political literacy and teacher leadership.

During her visit, Professor Vilma Žydžiūnaitė will conduct classes in research methodology for doctoral students of social sciences and for students of pedagogy. In addition, she will conducts a “Leadership in science” course for PhD students and will deliver a lecture on “Integrative phenomenology”, followed by an open seminar.

The purpose of the visit is also to extend cooperation in the field of education of doctoral students and students of pedagogy between the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Vitas Magnus University in Kaunas. As part of the Transform4Europe consortium, it is planned to create joint education programs at the student and doctoral level.
