Rules of cooperation within the City-Region-Academia programme
General Rules
- Events (if they do not require funding) can be submitted year-round. In the case of events that plan to apply for funding, application deadlines are determined by separate rules of each organiser. Detailed information is provided by the coordinators (contact information available in the table below).
- The cooperation concerns local, regional, national or international projects, organised on-site or online.
- The event should be non-commercial and, as a rule, should not be payable.
- Partial financial support for planned events is possible, but these funds can only be used to implement the programme assumptions of ECSK 2024: Programme assumptions of ECSK 2024 by the University of Silesia – Issuu
- Scientific conferences that will be submitted to the stream must be previously included in the university conference plan.
- Reported events must be carried out within at least one of the EMNK 2024 thematic paths and should meet the programme assumptions, (Programme assumptions of ECSK 2024 by the University of Silesia – Issuu), scientific cooperation, accessibility and environmental guidelines.

Event submission procedure
- The event must be submitted only via the European City of Science Katowice 2024 event and initiative registration form.
- After verification, the event will be included in the ECSK 2024 calendar of events. The entity responsible for verification and contact with the organiser is the coordinator appointed at each Consortium university, as well as in the City of Katowice, the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship and the Metropolis GZM. In case of negative verification, the organiser will be informed immediately.

Rules for sharing the logo and accepting promotional materials

Publication of information about an event
A set of important information has been prepared for the communication purposes regarding individual initiatives. In order to promote an event, the organiser must prepare promotional materials and graphics, in accordance with the list below.
35 DAYS BEFORE THE PLANNED DATE OF THE EVENT
- developing materials describing the event (overall description of the event for the website and a short description – if it was not included in the application form). Based on this description, promotional and communication content will be developed for websites, social media and newsletters for various recipient groups.
The organiser sends the materials by e-mail to the coordinator of their unit.
21 DAYS BEFORE THE PLANNED DATE OF THE EVENT
- providing graphics promoting the event (guidelines for labelling graphics are described in general rules, point 7).

- creating an event on Facebook and inviting the ECSK 2024 profile to be a co-organiser (optional).
1 DAY AFTER THE EVENT
- providing up to 20 photos from the event and a short summary of the event.

Guidelines:
- Submitted events should meet programme assumptions, scientific cooperation, accessibility and environmental guidelines, and their topics should be consistent with the thematic paths of ECSK 2024: Programme assumptions of ECSK 2024 by the University of Silesia – Issuu
- When organising an event within the City-Region-Academia streamd, remember to ensure accessibility for all participants and invited guests. Basic information about accessibility.

- Events organised as part of the City-Region-Academia Stream should be planned and organised in an environmentally friendly way, as so-called eco-events taking into account the minimisation of negative impacts on ecosystems, by:
– event planning in accordance with sustainable development guidelines,
– utilising pro-environmental solutions and materials,
– using energy from renewable sources,
– segregating and recycling waste,
– introducing educational activities and segments,
– supporting local community,
– promoting sustainable transport,
– involving participants in eco-friendly/pro-environmental activities.
