79th meeting of the Ecological Thought Club

The 79th meeting of the Ecological Thought Club „Co nam grozi, jeśli nie uratujemy Puszczy Karpackiej?” [“Consequences of failing to save the Carpathian Forest”] will be held on 18 October 2022 at the Centre for Scientific Information and Academic Library (CINiBA) in Katowice (ul. Bankowa 11a).

The guests of the next meeting of nature lovers will be activists of the Inicjatywa Dzikie Karpaty [Wild Carpathians Initiative], Łukasz Synowiecki and Ewelina Głowacka who for many years through various actions in the field have been working towards the creation of the Turnicki National Park.

Łukasz Synowiecki is a social worker by education. From an early age, he is interested in biology and travel. On a daily basis, he is an activist of the Obóz dla Puszczy [Camp for the Forest], the Inicjatywa Dzikie Karpaty and anti-hunting movements. For years he has been associated with Podlasie region, and for 7 years he has been living in the Białowieża Forest.

Ewelina Głowacka is a graduate of literary studies and philosophy, who has been involved in the environmental protection for several years. She co-organised climate strikes and is currently active in the Inicjatywa Dzikie Karpaty.

The meeting will be held at CINiBA at 5.30 p.m.. It will also be possible to participate online via the YouTube channel or through Facebook.

The meeting will be conducted by Prof. Piotr Skubała from the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Silesia and Ryszard Kulik, PhD from the Pracownia na Rzecz Wszystkich Istot [Workshop for All Beings].

The event organisers include the University of Silesia in Katowice and Metropolis GZM
