Accessible school

We are aware of the fact that students are not homogenous group and that they have various needs. We have adjusting the process of studying in mind to encompass various, including individual circumstances hat shape the needs of students in this area.
For many years the University of Silesia in Katowice has been realizing projects targeted at better adjustment of the school to individual needs of students. It is, on the one hand, an adjustment on the architectural level thanks to which persons with disabilities or parents with small children may freely function in the university buildings; on the other hand, adjustments on the level of organizing participation in classes – here there is a possibility of using specialist equipment and equipping the supporting devices such as laptops, scanners, magnifiers, recorders and other; also the support of assistant for persons with the disabilities is possible to be organized.
Persons with disabilities who study at the University of Silesia in Katowice may also avail of such forms of support as social scholarship for the disabled, access to digitalized library resources of the Centre of Scientific Information and the Academic Library, free of charge psychological consultations or Individual Adjustment of Studies.
