Announcement of recruitment for two scholarship programs for academic year 2024/2025 in the project „International from the beginning – wsparcie umiędzynarodowienia”, financed by the National Agency for Academic Exchange in the STER Program
- Increase in the doctoral scholarship for foreign doctoral students (9 scholarships).
PhD students who have citizenship other than Polish or who have completed second-cycle studies carried out entirely abroad can apply for the scholarship.
The scholarship is addressed to doctoral students who are in their second year of education in the academic year 2024/2025.
- Increase of the doctoral scholarship for doctoral students from Poland pursuing an international doctorate (6 scholarships).
PhD students from Poland who are pursuing an international doctorate as defined in the project, i.e. (one of the following):
- a doctorate pursued in the co-tutelle model within the framework of an individual contract or cooperation between the University of Silesia and another university;
- a doctorate pursued in cooperation with another foreign university under a program or agreement;
- having a supervisor employed at a foreign university;
- pursuing a doctorate in the framework of international cooperation (e.g. a grant pursued jointly with foreign researchers)The scholarship is addressed to doctoral students who are in their second year of education in the academic year 2024/2025.
Information on both programs
The increase in the scholarship is PLN 1280 per month and will be paid monthly, at the end of each month, for 12 months of the academic year 2024/2025. First scholarship will be paid at the end of November 2024, with a compensation for October 2024.
Application evaluation criteria:
- scientific achievements in the first year of education;
- research plans for internationalisation – implementation of an international doctorate within the meaning of these program;
- Popular science activities to date
Applications can be submitted until November 7, 23:59, electronically.
How to start participation in the project
- name and surname
- PESEL/passport number
- address of residence (in Poland)
- period of the internship (first and last day of mobility).
The intern receives funds in the form of a lump sum to cover the costs of travel and accommodation and organizes the trip on his/her own hand. The internship participant is obliged to collect financial documentation from the trip (travel tickets, accommodation costs) and present it upon request of the university. In the standard settlement, these documents are not required.
Dokumenty i działania niezbędne do rozliczenia stażu
- immediately after returning, prepares and sends to ster@us.edu.pl the financial settlement of the trip on a form Rozliczenie-finansowe-wyjazdu (must be filled on Polish form; English translation for comparison: Financial Settlement)
- within 14 days after completing the internship, electronically:
- sends a short press release about the internship, preferably with authorized photos, which can be placed on the university website
- fills in the evaluation form [available from September]
- comes to the Doctoral School office within 14 days after completing the internship and provides the following documents
- certificate and description of the achieved effects signed by the internship supervisor Certificate NAWA
- substantive report signed by the doctoral student and supervisor STER-report after internship
