The project, entitled: VINCI Dive into Science–Interdisciplinary International Silesian Summer School“, mainly assumes the organizing of an international summer school dedicated to the best worldwide students. The choice of support results from the popularity of the so-called short-term programs, including summer schools and other educational programs lasting from 2 to 8 weeks. The project will be realized in the period from 01/11/2021 to 31/08/2023.
Students from EU and non-EU countries who have completed at least one year of first-cycle studies or are in the process of second-cycle studies (computer science or chemical sciences or physical sciences or materials engineering) can apply to the VINCI School. Attention! We do not recruit Ph.D. students for the project. Each of the participants of the School will receive a scholarship of PLN 5 000.00. Students will stay three weeks at the University of Silesia in Poland. The Faculty of Science and Technology conducts the School with the support of four Scientific institutes: Institute of Chemistry, Institute of Physics, Institute of Computer Science, Institute of Materials Engineering.
The first edition of the Summer School was held on 4-22 July 2022 and was a complete success. In the second (last) edition, planned from 3 to 21 July 2023, 22 students will be recruited. The start of recruitment is 01/02/2023.
The VINCI Summer School Programme offers basic and advanced physics, chemistry, computer science, and materials engineering courses. Summer Students will attend a series of lectures specially prepared for them. Moreover, School gives a unique opportunity to join in the day-to-day work of research teams participating in experiments at the Faculty of Science and Technology University of Silesia. The courses on the polish culture in the School of Polish Language and Culture and two excurses are also part of the program. Students are required to prepare a short report (presentation) on their work at the Faculty of Science and Technology University of Silesia, which should be presented at the end of their stay during the closing seminar.
