Redakcja: Andrzej Szczurek

We would like to present our Critical Heritage Course available on the T4EU Metacampus, the platform where all students from the alliance can attend courses offered by all partner universities. This course is the first T4EU e-course bringing together scholars from all 10 universities of the Alliance. It contributes to the achievement of T4EU Milestone 159 and is coordinated by Roberta Altin and Tullia Catalan.

The course offers an introduction to the concept of critical heritage from different scientific perspectives. More specifically, it focuses on European heritage as a construct of shared cultural practices and as a form of creative and dialogic engagement among people, objects, places, and practices. It features lectures delivered by academics from all the Alliance’s partner universities and adopts comparative approaches that encourage the observation and analysis of diverse heritage processes.

The Critical Heritage course will be held English and is divided in two modules, focusing on historical and anthropological approaches. It is a 30-hour course for the first semester, starting on 1 October 2026. Lectures will take place every Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please find a lecture schedule attached.

Students from the alliance can apply directly on the Metacampus platform until September 13th.

The course foresees an oral exam with a poster presentation and discussion to verify the skills acquired during the semester, to be held indicatively in January and February of 2027. The exam will last approximately 25 minutes and takes place online (for T4EU students). Upon successful completion of the exam, students will be awarded 6 ECTS.
