October 7, 2023. Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad launched „Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,” a surprise attack that combined massive rocket fire and the movement of thousands of fighters into southern Israel. More than 1,200 people were killed and thousands wounded, most of them Israeli civilians. Hamas also took hostages, including children, women, the elderly and people with disabilities. In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched Operation Iron Swords, which began with air strikes and bombing of the Gaza Strip, followed by a land operation in late October.

The subject of the workshop will be a legal and international reflection on new technologies and solutions used by Israel aided by artificial intelligence and their compatibility with international humanitarian law of armed conflict and international human rights law.

The event will be held at the Faculty of Law and Administration in room 1.4. on December 19, 2023 from 11:30 to 13:00.
