This book aims to verify whether international law, of which international human rights law is a huge branch, can contribute to improving the situation of excluded older people. In its foundation, this branch of international law is primarily aimed at protecting the individual, especially the vulnerable one. At its core is the concept of equality linked to the personal dignity of the human being as an inherent value of every human being. Hence, this book is about something other than the social inclusion of older persons per se, namely international human rights law and its mechanisms in relation to the need to mainstream older people.
This book is a result of the research conducted as part of the long-term project – ”Social and digital inclusion of older persons as a special task for NGOs. An international human rights law perspective” (financed by the National Science Centre, Poland.
