Na przełomie kwietnia i maja kierunek filologia angielska Wydziału Humanistycznego będzie gościć pana profesora Rezę Hasmatha z University of Alberta w Kanadzie, który wygłosi trzy wykłady na studiach II stopnia w ramach specjalności amerykanistyka dla komunikacji międzykulturowej i dyplomacji. Odbędą się one w dniach 27 i 29 kwietnia oraz 5 maja br. na Wydziale Humanistycznym w Sosnowcu (ul. Grota-Roweckiego 5).

Prevailing theories suggest that international institutions create order, rules, and ultimately, foster global peace. This lecture will test these underlying assumptions in the current global climate. In addition, it will examine frameworks that account for the potentially changing role and behaviour of international institutions in present-day. Finally, it will look at how non-state actors influence the contemporary behaviour of international institutions.

Global governance has empirically shifted significantly in the 21st century. This lecture will examine the relevant structural and institutional 'forces' underpinning these shifts. The rise of the BRIICS nations has challenged traditional hegemony in international affairs. This lecture will delve into how such 'rising powers' influence global governance at the micro and macro-levels. It will further discuss strategies on how 'traditional powers' can meaningfully engage and interact with 'rising powers' in the future.
