• Wydział Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Śląskiego od kilku lat znajduje się w ścisłej czołówce wydziałów prawa w Polsce. Według przeprowadzonej w 2017 roku przez Komitet Ewaluacji Jednostek Naukowych (KEJN) przy Ministrze Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego oceny jakości działalności naukowej i badawczo–rozwojowej jednostek naukowych, Wydział Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Śląskiego otrzymał kategorię A.

• Otrzymaliśmy ocenę wyróżniającą Polskiej Komisji Akredytacyjnej. To najważniejsza ocena z perspektywy jakości kształcenia, infrastruktury i współpracy międzynarodowej.

• Wydział Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Śląskiego jako jedyny w Polsce otrzymał GLOBAL LEADERSHIP AWARD przyznaną w trakcie Ramowej Konwencji Narodów Zjednoczonych w Sprawie Zmian Klimatu COP 25 w Madrycie, za zasługi i wkład na polu przeciwdziałania kryzysowi klimatycznemu.

• W 2021 roku Wydział Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Śląskiego był gospodarzem pierwszego międzynarodowego sympozjum organizowanego w ramach cyklu spotkań szkoleniowych z zakresu stosowania prawa unijnego. W szkoleniach w ramach Projektu Unijnego TRAIL – Train in your language: multilingual transnational training in EU civil and commercial law uczestniczyli adwokaci, komornicy i notariusze.

• Nasi studenci licznie uczestniczą w Programie Erasmus+ realizując część studiów na uczelniach partnerskich lub odbywając praktyki w wybranej instytucji, czy kancelarii prawnej znajdującej się na terenie krajów uczestniczących w Programie. Na liście naszych partnerów w ramach Erasmus+ znajduje się ponad siedemdziesiąt uczelni z państw Unii Europejskiej i spoza (m.in. Turcji).

• Współpraca z uczelniami z Chin daje studentom możliwość wyjazdu i nauki także na uczelniach partnerskich w państwie środka.

• Zachęcamy studentów i doktorantów do udziału w programie mobilności MOST, który daje możliwość rozwoju i poznania krajowych uczelni, poprzez realizowanie semestralnych lub rocznych studiów na uniwersytecie innym niż macierzysty.

• Studenci współuczestniczą w projektach badawczych (także międzynarodowych) w zespołach kierowanych przez pracowników naukowych naszego wydziału. Owocem zaangażowania studentów jest m.in. publikacja E-sport. Prawne aspekty, w której studenci są autorami wszystkich rozdziałów!

• Studenci mają możliwość doskonalenia praktycznej umiejętności stosowania prawa w ramach kół naukowych (na wydziale działa ponad 30!), Studenckiej Poradni Prawnej oraz poprzez program praktyk studenckich w sądach, prokuraturach, kancelariach prawnych oraz organach administracji publicznej.

• Prace dyplomowe naszych absolwentów są nagradzane w wielu krajowych konkursach. Min. pod patronatem: Ministra Edukacji i Nauki, czy Szefa Agencji Bezpieczeństwa Wewnętrznego.

• Wydziałowe drużyny regularnie biorą udział i zdobywają najwyższe laury w międzynarodowych konkursach „Moot Court”, w których rywalizują najlepsze zespoły z całego świata biorąc udział w symulowanych postępowaniach sądowych lub arbitrażowych, zwykle polegających na sporządzaniu pism i uczestniczeniu w wystąpieniach ustnych. W 2021 roku nasi studenci wywalczyli nagrodę Best Oralist for Respondent na 1st Lviv Pre-Moot oraz drugie miejsce w Ljubljanie na konkursie „All-European International Humanitarian and Refugee Law Moot Court””.

• W siedzibie naszego Wydziału położonej w centrum Katowic (wystarczy 10 minut spaceru, by znaleźć się na Rynku, ulicy Mariackiej albo przed siedzibą NOPR lub Spodkiem!) znajduje się szereg udogodnień:

• Windy umożliwiające dotarcie na każde piętro budynku

• Świetnie wyposażona Biblioteka Prawnicza z dostępem do 150 tys. książek (także obcojęzycznych), 200 tytułów prasy oraz baz prawniczych.

• Księgarnia specjalistyczna, gdzie każdy może zaopatrzyć się w podręczniki, skrypty i komentarze.

• Punkt ksero.

• Kafejki oferujące napoje i posiłki.

• Nasz nowoczesny budynek jest także przestrzenią wystawienniczą. Stałe wystawy fotograficznych portretów polskich artystów XX i XXI wieku oraz współczesnej grafiki uzupełniane są o wystawy czasowe towarzyszące wydarzeniom. Koniecznie musisz też zobaczyć kultową kładkę rozpiętą nad holem na wysokości II piętra!

• The Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia has been at the top of law faculties in Poland for several years. According to the 2017 evaluation of the quality of scientific and research and development activities of scientific units conducted by the Committee for the Evaluation of Scientific Units (KEJN) under the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia received an A category.

• We have received a positive grade from the Polish Accreditation Commission. This is the most important evaluation from the perspective of educational quality, infrastructure and international cooperation.

• The Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia was the only one in Poland to receive the GLOBAL LEADERSHIP AWARD awarded during the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP 25 in Madrid, for its merits and contributions in the field of combating the climate crisis.

• In 2021, the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia hosted the first international symposium organized as part of a series of training meetings on the application of EU law. Lawyers, bailiffs and notaries participated in the training sessions as part of the TRAIL EU Project – Train in your language: multilingual transnational training in EU civil and commercial law.

• Our students participate in the Erasmus+ Program in large numbers, carrying out part of their studies at partner universities or doing internships at a selected institution or law office located in the countries participating in the Program. The list of our Erasmus+ partners includes more than seventy universities from EU and non-EU countries (including Turkey).

• Cooperation with universities from China gives students the opportunity to go and study at partner universities in the middle country as well.

• Students and doctoral students are encouraged to participate in the MOST mobility program, which gives them the opportunity to develop and explore national universities by pursuing a semester or one-year course of study at a university other than their home university.

• The department has foreign law schools. Two with English as the language of instruction – American law and Chinese law, and with Spanish – Spanish law and the laws of Latin American countries. Within the schools, classes are taught by scholars and practitioners from the respective countries.

• Students participate in research projects (including international ones) in teams led by researchers from our department. The fruit of students’ involvement is, among others, the publication E-sport. Legal Aspects, in which students are authors of all chapters!

• Students have the opportunity to improve their practical skills in the application of the law within the framework of scientific circles (there are more than 30 in the department!), the Student Legal Clinic and through a program of student internships in courts, prosecutors’ offices, law firms and public administration bodies.

• The theses of our graduates are awarded in many national competitions under the patronage of: Minister of Education and Science, or Head of the Internal Security Agency.

• Faculty teams regularly participate and win top awards in international „Moot Court” competitions, in which the best teams from around the world compete by taking part in simulated court or arbitration proceedings, usually involving drafting pleadings and participating in oral arguments. In 2021, our students won Best Oralist for Respondent at the 1st Lviv Pre-Moot and second place in Ljubljana at the All-European International Humanitarian and Refugee Law Moot Court competition.”

• In the building of our Department located in the center of Katowice (just a 10-minute walk will take you to the Market Square, St. Mary’s Street or in front of the NOPR building or Spodek!) has a number of comforts:

• Elevators that allow you to reach each floor of the building,

• Well-equipped Law Library with access to 150,000 books (including foreign language books), 200 press titles and legal databases,

• A specialized bookstore where anyone can stock textbooks, scripts and commentaries,

• Photocopy shop,

• Cafes offering drinks and meals,

• Our modern building is also an exhibition space. Permanent exhibitions of photographic portraits of Polish artists of the 20th and 21st centuries and contemporary graphics are complemented by temporary exhibitions accompanying events. You must also see the iconic footbridge spanning the lobby at the level of the second floor!

Na studia na podstawie postępowania kwalifikacyjnego przyjmowane będą w ramach limitu miejsc osoby posiadające dyplom ukończenia studiów z tytułem licencjata, inżyniera, magistra lub równoważny (tj. uznany z polskim dyplomem w przypadku ukończenia studiów za granicą) uzyskany na dowolnym kierunku.

Wymagana znajomość języka angielskiego na poziomie co najmniej B2, zgodnie z Europejskim Systemem Opisu Kształcenia Językowego.

Rekrutacja odbywa się na podstawie oceny złożonych przez kandydata wymaganych dokumentów (po uprzedniej rejestracji w systemie Internetowej Rejestracji Kandydatów).

Jeżeli liczba kandydatów będzie większa od limitu miejsc, o zakwalifikowaniu na studia zadecyduje miejsce na liście rankingowej, utworzonej na podstawie średniej ocen ze studiów.

Students will be admitte on the basis of the qualification procedure – within the limit of places, persons holding a diploma with a bachelor’s, bachelor of engineering, master’s or equivalent degree (i.e., recognized with a Polish diploma in the case of graduation abroad) obtained in any field of study.

Knowledge of English at a level of at least B2 is required, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Recruitment is based on the evaluation of the required documents submitted by the candidate (after prior registration in the Internet Candidate Registration system).

If the number of candidates exceeds the limit of places, the place on the ranking list, created on the basis of the average grade of the studies, will determine the eligibility for studies.

Program studiów oparty został o cztery główne bloki tematyczne:

I. General courses – przedmioty z zakresu prawa, m.in. handlowego, arbitrażowego, międzynarodowego i prawa UE oraz prawa własności intelektualnej, prawa umów.
II. Business Law – zagadnienia obejmujące zasady prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej w UE, zasady funkcjonowania przedsiębiorców na rynku kapitałowym, reguły partnerstwa publiczno-prywatnego oraz mechanizmy zawierania umów.
III. Mediation & Arbitration – obejmuje teoretyczną wiedzę na temat prawnych standardów mediacji oraz arbitrażu, jak również praktyczne warsztaty konstruowania umów.
IV. Special courses – fakultatywne wykłady monograficzne i konwersatoria umożliwiające poszerzenie wiedzy z trzech pierwszych bloków zgodnie z zainteresowaniami studenta (jak np. prawo spółek, obrót przedsiębiorstwem, prawo konkurencji i konsumentów, czy kwestie etyczno-prawne w arbitrażu inwestycyjnym etc.).

Studia na kierunku International Business Law and Arbitration (IBLA) mają na celu przygotowanie wysoko wykwalifikowanych specjalistów z zakresu międzynarodowego prawa gospodarczego i arbitrażu.

Dalsze studia – możliwość ubiegania się o przyjęcie na studia podyplomowe i doktoranckie.

I. General courses – subjects in the field of law, including commercial, arbitration, international and EU law, as well as intellectual property law, contract law.
II. Business Law – issues including the rules of doing business in the EU, the rules of entrepreneurs on the capital market, the rules of public-private partnerships and the mechanisms of contracting.
III. Mediation & Arbitration – includes theoretical knowledge of the legal standards of mediation and arbitration, as well as practical workshops on contracts construction.
IV. Special courses – facultative monographic lectures and discussion classes that allow to expand the knowledge of the first three blocks according to the student’s interests (such as corporation law, business trading, competition and consumer law, or ethical and legal issues in investment arbitration, etc.).

The study of International Business Law and Arbitration (IBLA) aims to prepare highly qualified specialists in international business law and arbitration.

Po ukończeniu studiów absolwent IBLA może rozpocząć karierę (także zagranicą) jako profesjonalny prawnik biznesowy, wewnętrzny doradca firmy, urzędnik państwowy lub prawnik w międzynarodowej organizacji (także rządowej) – dotyczy absolwentów kierunku Prawo.

Będzie mógł zatem:
• pracować w sektorze prywatnym – np. w kancelariach prawniczych, firmach doradztwa biznesowego, w różnych międzynarodowych i krajowych organizacjach, mających kontakty biznesowe i interesy w obcych krajach, bankach i innych instytucjach finansowych, firmach ubezpieczeniowych, biurach notarialnych itp.;
• pracować w sektorze publicznym – w instytucjach krajowych, europejskich i międzynarodowych, promujących rozwój biznesu, agencjach nadzoru biznesu, w instytucjach akademickich i badawczych, a także w komercyjnych organach sądowych (instytucje rozstrzygania sporów przed sądem, trybunały, sądy arbitrażu) oraz w innych organizacjach (takich jak stowarzyszenia promujące i broniące interesów i praw konsumentów oraz pracowników),
• pracować jako niezależny konsultant lub założyć własną firmę świadcząc usługi z zakresu doradztwa prawnego.

After graduation, an IBLA graduate can begin a career (including abroad) as a professional business lawyer, in-house counsel for a company, a public authority, or a lawyer in an international organization (including government) – applies to law graduates.

You will be able to:
• work in the private sector – for example, in law firms, business consulting firms, various international and national organizations with business contacts and interests in foreign countries, banks and other financial institutions, insurance companies, notary offices, etc..;
• work in the public sector – in national, European and international institutions promoting business development, business regulatory agencies, academic and research institutions, as well as in commercial judicial bodies (pre-trial dispute resolution institutions, tribunals, arbitration courts) and other organizations (such as associations promoting and defending the interests and rights of consumers and employees),
• work as an independent consultant or set up their own business providing legal consulting services.
