How to obtain your electronic student ID (ELS)?

You need to have an electronic student ID to confirm your status as a student.

Please note! If you are already a student of the University of Silesia possessing a valid student ID and you enrol in another programme, you don’t need another student ID!

You will receive your ID from the Dean’s Office responsible for your programme.

What to do to obtain it?

You need to:

  • upload your photo to the IRK system and have it accepted;
  • pay the fee amounting to PLN 22.00.

The account number to transfer the fee is generated individually for each student, after you log in to the USOSweb service under DLA WSZYSTKICH.

The Dean’s Office activates the possibility to log in to the USOSweb for each candidate who has registered for a programme and has submitted the required documents. Ask your Dean’s Office when you will be able to log in to USOSweb!

Prolonging the validity and expiry of your student ID

Your student ID needs to be validated each semester by updating your data in the USOSweb system and by placing the hologram sticker in the relevant field in your ID. You will obtain the hologram sticker from your Dean’s Office.

You may use your student ID until the day you graduate, you are suspended or expelled.

Please note! If you graduate from a 1st level programme, your student ID is valid until 31st October of the year of your graduation.

What to do if your student ID is lost, stolen, or destroyed?

You need to:

  • report what has happened to your Dean’s Office;
  • pay the fee for a duplicate student ID amounting to PLN 33,00 (the account number is the same as for your original student ID).

The most important and the most interesting privileges resulting from your student ID

When you have your electronic student ID, you are able to confirm that you are a student of the University of Silesia. You are able to use the libraries and the parking areas (in some Faculties).

Selected discounts offered to students on the basis of their student ID:

  • public transport (until 26 years of age):

How to obtain your record book?

You will receive your record book, just like your ID, from the Dean’s Office responsible for your programme.

What to do to obtain it?

You need to:

  • submit your photo to the Dean’s Office;
  • pay the fee amounting to PLN 4.00.

The account number to transfer the fee is the same as for the student ID  (i.e. generated individually for each student, after you log in to the USOSweb service under DLA WSZYSTKICH).

What is the record book for?

Each semester, teachers enter into the record book the grades you receive from final tests and exams for individual courses (modules). Except for that, the record book should contain the information related to: prizes, awards, penalties, student traineeships and all the stages of diploma procedures. In order to successfully complete a semester, you need to obtain credits for all the courses (modules) foreseen in the curriculum and to gather the total of at least 30 ECTS points.

What to do if your record book is lost, stolen, or destroyed?

You need to:

  • report what has happened to your Dean’s Office;
  • submit your photo and pay the fee for a duplicate record book amounting to PLN 6,00 (the account number is the same as for your original record book).

The duplicate record book is issued on the basis of the student’s course of studies documentation filed in the Dean’s Office.
