Remigiusz Kopoczek, PhD from the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science of the University of Silesia in Katowice was appointed by the Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Przemysław Czarnek as the director of the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR). From February 2022, Remigiusz Kopoczek, PhD was the director of the unit, replacing Wojciech Kamieniecki, PhD, Eng.
The aim of the National Centre for Research and Development is to support and create innovative technological and social solutions. The centre deals with, among others, initiating and implementing projects contributing to the civilisation development of the country.
Remigiusz Kopoczek, PhD is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science of the University of Silesia, co-founder of the first in Poland degree programme Game and Virtual Reality Design (first and second cycle studies), which in 2013 received the award of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for the best practical arts degree programme in Poland. In the years 2012–2016 he was the Deputy Dean for Education and Students at the Faculty of Arts (currently the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science). He was also the president of ARP Games, the first Polish video game accelerator established by the Industrial Development Agency, the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Cieszyn poviat. Recently, he was the president of the management board of one of the largest economic conferences in Poland – Kongres 590. Co-author and participant of many video game development projects.
