The Rajd Śląska [Silesia Rally] will take place this Friday, 9 September, in Katowice. In connection with the event, temporary changes in the organisation of traffic in the near vicinity of the University of Silesia Campus in Katowice will be introduced on this day.
The changes will take effect from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. The streets used in the rally as well as the right lane of ul. Moniuszki, starting from the ul. Moniuszki and ul. Uniwersytecka intersection to al. Korfantego will be closed to traffic. The option of driving from u. Moniuszki to ul. Piotra Skargi will remain.
The following streets will be closed:
- ul. Uniwersytecka – from rondo Pietera [Pietera roundabout] to al. Roździeńskiego,
- the northern roadway of al. Roździeńskiego from rondo gen. Ziętka [Gen. Ziętka roundabout] to the intersection with ul. Dudy-Gracza and ul. Dobrowolskiego, and the southern roadway from the roundabout to the end of ul. Uniwersytecka.
It will be possible to enter al. Korfantego from ul. Olimpijska in both directions — towards Siemianowice and towards rondo gen. Ziętka. The rondo gen. Ziętka will only be passable from north to south and from west to south, while traffic through the tunnel will move in both directions. In addition, pedestrian crossings on the route of the rally will be closed.
Please remember to leave the car park in the Culture Zone before 3 p.m. Leaving your vehicle on the route of the rally past 3 p.m., e.g. in the car park along al. Korfantego, will make you unable to exit until 10 p.m.
