USil Scientists with Grants within OPUS 26+LAP/Weave

Projects of two scientists from the University of Silesia in Katowice have been funded within the OPUS 26+LAP/Weave call for research by the National Science Centre. Our scientists will be implementing research for a total amount of PLN 1,500,000.

The winners are:

  • Marta Tomczok, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof., Faculty of Humanities – project: Mapping the Culture of the Last Coal-Mining Region in Europe (PLN 403,447),
  • Barbara Wójcikowska, PhD, Faculty of Natural Sciences – project: The Hidden Side of Auxin Signalling – The MONOPTEROS MP11ir Isoform and Its Role in the Auxin-Independent Regulation of Gene Expression during Somatic Embryogenesis (PLN 1,096,780).

OPUS is the largest call for research projects by the National Science Centre; the call is addressed to all scientists with no restrictions on age, experience, academic title, or degree.

Scientists may apply for funding projects implemented at Polish units with or without the participation of international partners, as well as projects requiring the use of large international research equipment.

The Lead Agency Procedure within the call makes it possible to apply for funding of projects implemented in cooperation with international research teams from Austria, Czechia, Slovenia, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium-Flanders under the Weave programme.
