Yet another funding by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education has been awarded to the University of Silesia; the funds within the SPUB programme will be allocated to maintain the research apparatus for 2024–2026. The fund finances research apparatus is the Automated High-Pressure Soft Matter Testing System (SZWBM); it amounted to PLN 1,700,000.

The funds will be used to maintain the readiness for research of unique high-pressure equipment used to study the molecular dynamics of condensed matter, including supercooled liquids, ionic liquids, glass, hybrid and ceramic materials, and polymers, as well as to conduct chemical syntheses under high-pressure conditions. This important branch of research conducted using SZWBM is also the study of the stability of pharmaceutical materials in the amorphous phase and the study of materials for use in new generation battery cells.

The apparatus is included on the list of the Polish Roadmap for Research Infrastructure within the MAGREZ consortium.

The SPUB programme is dedicated to maintaining the readiness for research for the equipment that is unique in the country and Europe. It takes place once a year, and the funding can be obtained for a maximum of three years.
