The agreement concerning collaboration for organising the Silesian Congress on Education was signed on 23 March 2025 at the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship.
The parties to the agreement are the Silesian Voivodeship, the City of Katowice, the University of Silesia, and the Silesian Superintendent of Education. The imitative is addressed to teachers at schools and educational institutions from the Silesian Voivodeship, and the very Congress is planned to take place in autumn 2025 in Katowice.
The event featured Rafał Adamczyk – Member of the Silesian Voivodeship Board; Marcin Krupa – Mayor of Katowice; Marcin Wójcik – Silesian Voivode; Prof. Ryszard Koziołek – Rector of the University of Silesia; and Aleksandra Dyla – Silesian Superintendent of Education.
‘Signing today’s agreement is the first step toward organising the Silesian Congress on Education and, therefore, activities related to the development and growth of education within the region. It is an opportunity to see how well education functions in the Silesian Voivodeship; it is also a chance to bring the community together and listen to the voices of those who are deeply committed to changing education and adapting it to the ever-changing reality,’ underlined Rafał Adamczyk, the Member of the Silesian Voivodeship Board.
‘When it comes to the development of education, we must rely on scientific research; thus, we have the University of Silesia in this process. Places with good schools are the ones where people want to live, and anyone who cares about the region’s prosperity and future makes sure education is a priority. We want to teach in an attractive way so that young people are able to experiment using their knowledge. It allows us to use knowledge to pave our own way of life,’ said Prof. Ryszard Koziołek, the Rector of the University of Silesia.
