Prof. Marek Safjan is a renowned lawyer and authority in the field of civil, medical, European, and constitutional law. For many years he was a lecturer at the University of Warsaw, where he also served as vice-rector. He was a judge from 1997 and the President of the Polish Constitutional Tribunal in 1998-2006. In 2009, he became a judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union. He was awarded the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. In 2012 he received an honorary doctorate degree from the European University Institute in Florence. Prof. Marek Safjan is the author of numerous scientific publications that have a significant impact on legal discourse in Poland and Europe. His extensive scholarly work, involvement in social activities and dedication to judicial service demonstrate his extraordinary commitment to promoting the rule of law, democracy and freedom.
