The University of Silesia in Katowice will lead the works of an international consortium due to the implementation of the Gender Equality Programme in Academia – Raising Diversity [GEPARD]; the project is co-financed by the European Union. The following institutions will cooperate within the strategic partnership: University of Miscolc, European University Cyprus, University of Malta, Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, and Euniversity (a spin-off cooperating with the University of Salerno).
The goal of the project is to develop conditions for gender equality in the academic environment and promote diversity through, among others:
- constructing a universal application model of gender equality policy in the university space and its dissemination;
- exchanging good practices in the field of gender equality and promotion of diversity in the academic environment;
- promoting diversity in the higher education sector;
- strengthening cooperation between the entities involved.
The project is to be implemented in 2022–2024. The coordinator of the GEPARD project is Prof. Ewa Jarosz, the Vice-Rector for Staff Development. The administrative coordinator of the GEPARD project is Marta Margiel, PhD, from the Faculty of Humanities.
