Honorary Professors of the University of Silesia
The title of Honorary Professor of the University of Silesia is awarded to an outstanding scholar or an outstanding creator who has made a significant contribution to the development of the University or to the development of the University’s cooperation with domestic or foreign research centres.
Teaching and research employees of the University of Silesia have the right to report the candidates for the title. The application containing detailed subject-related justification should be recommended by a signature of at least five teaching and research employees. The candidate’s application is submitted to the Rector by the end of April each year. The documentation of granting the title is kept by the Rector’s Office. The resolution on granting the title is passed by the Senate in a secret ballot, after consulting the Jury that includes the Rector and the chairperson of the Senate committees.
The Honorary Professor of the University of Silesia receives an ID and a diploma that are handed during the inauguration of the academic year.
